This Privacy Policy describes how Fishtape, Inc. ("Fishtape", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information through fishtape.app, its subdomains, and the Fishtape service (together, the "Service").
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you give us:
(a) account information: name, email address, mobile number, job title, and profile photo;
(b) business information: business name, address, phone number, email address, license number, and website;
(c) billing information: billing address and payment details, which our payment processor collects and holds;
(d) files and information you submit to the Service, including plan sets, which may contain personal information about other people;
(e) messages, feedback and the screenshots you attach to it, survey responses, and recordings of feedback calls; and
(f) information you submit to join a waitlist or book a demo.
1.2 Information we collect automatically: IP address, device and browser type, approximate location, pages viewed, clicks, the features you use and when, and recordings of your interactions with the Service, through cookies and similar technologies.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
(a) provide, operate, and secure the Service;
(b) verify your identity and mobile number;
(c) process payments;
(d) respond to you and provide support;
(e) improve the Service and develop, train, and test machine learning models;
(f) send you information about the Service, including marketing you may opt out of; and
(g) comply with law and enforce our agreements.
3. How we share information
3.1 We share personal information with service providers that process it for us, including providers of hosting, storage, automated plan processing, sign-in and verification, payments, messaging, analytics, session recording, error monitoring, and product feedback management.
3.2 We may share personal information in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets; to comply with law or legal process; to protect the rights and safety of Fishtape, our users, or others; and with your consent.
3.3 We do not share mobile numbers or text-message consent with third parties for their marketing.
4. Cookies and session recording
4.1 On our marketing website, analytics, session-recording, and advertising cookies load only after you accept them. These third parties may collect information about your online activity over time and across websites.
4.2 In the Service, session-recording and error-monitoring tools record your interactions, with typed text and form inputs masked.
4.3 We use Contentsquare, which includes Hotjar, for analytics and session recording on our marketing website and in the Service. It records pages viewed, clicks, mouse movement, and scrolling, and may connect your visits to the website and the Service. Contentsquare processes this information for us under its privacy policy at contentsquare.com/privacy-center.
4.4 We do not respond to Do Not Track signals.
5. Customer content
We process files and information a business customer submits to the Service on that customer's behalf. Requests about personal information in that content go to the customer.
6. Retention

We keep information longer when the law requires it.
7. De-identified information
We may de-identify personal information and keep and use de-identified information. We will not attempt to re-identify it.
8. Your choices
8.1 You may ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing hello@fishtape.app. We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days.
8.2 Deletion does not apply to de-identified information or to information we must keep to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
8.3 You may opt out of marketing email through the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, and out of text messages by replying STOP.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Location and age
The Service is offered to businesses in the United States. We process and store information in the United States. The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Changes
We will post changes to this Privacy Policy with a new "Last updated" date. We will notify users of a material change by email or in the Service before it takes effect.
